Easter Weekend Recap

I know that it is kind of late for an Easter wrap up, but I thought I would share some pictures from Avery's first Easter. We had the most beautiful warm weather for the weekend, and we also had great company. Dave and Michelle came from Michigan to visit. Avery loves attention from Bumpa and eve has a special smile for him.

We spent our time eating out on the deck, cheering for Michigan State in the Final Four and just enjoying our visitors. Dave loves to take pictures...and I believe that Avery may be one of his more favorite subjects. Which means we get so many great pictures. Here are a few....

Posing for Bumpa.

Miles came over to help cheer on Michigan State.

Eating out on the deck.

Good times!

Family picture!

Avery checking out her Easter basket or more like the grass in her Easter basket.

I filled plastic eggs with some of Avery's favorite snacks.

She continued to find eggs for several days after.

It was a great weekend. The only bad part was when it was over. Why do weekends seem so short?

Double Digits!!

Avery, you're 10 months old!

What are you up to?

  • You wear Pampers Cruisers - size 3.
  • You wear size 12 month clothes. You have a few 9 month outfits, but they are pretty tight.
  • Shoe size 3...yes shoes! You wear them occasionally
  • For breakfast you love to eat organic blueberry waffles and cut up banana. If I try and feed you oatmeal or rice cereal, you spit it out and try to feed it to yourself. Lunch and dinner you like anything that you can feed yourself. I try and sneak in some baby food...either a fruit or veggie.
  • Your nap schedule is not anything we can count on these days. Some days you get 2 naps and then other days you don't get any nap at all.
  • You usually sleep good at night...unless your cutting a new tooth.
  • Talking about teeth...you have six. 4 on top and 2 on bottom.
  • You are a constant mover. You are either crawling, pulling up or walking with the assistance of a couch or table.
  • You started to dance this month. You are so cute!!

Signs of Spring

The snow has long melted and the trees are slowly getting their leaves. Today the sun is out....but burrrrr it's cold outside. But here are some signs that warm weather is almost here...

I planted these Hyacinth flowers last fall. They smell so good!

Avery likes to use the dogs to stand up.

They don't seem to really mind the abuse she dishes out.

But then again she gets abused right back. Avery was balanced on Franklin here, and he decided to rollover.

On warm days, Avery enjoys some time in her swing.

A couple of weeks ago we had some pretty warm days. Avery was invited to come swim with Miles. It was like a big bath tub.

Look at that baby butt...and those cute rolly polly thighs!!!

Warm weather means sandals, shorts and enjoying the soft grass.

April in Arizona always meant Spring training games, shorts and the first sun burn of the season. April in Ohio is so much different. Tonight we even have a freeze warning! But I am confident that the warm weather will find its way back to the Midwest.

Playing catchup

The semester is almost over so I've been studying extra hard these last few weeks. I have to get an A in my Organic Chemistry class, so I am trying to "focus"! Which means I've not been on my best blogging behavior. I do have Avery's 10 month picture to post...an Easter recap...and a favorite recipe. But that is not going to get done right now. I thought I would post a few pictures in case you were going through Avery cuteness withdrawl. She is so much fun!

Our friends Lisa and Adam and their two little ones were in our swim class. Kayla is one day younger than Avery and her big brother, Gavin, will be 3 soon. Avery was very interested in what Gavin was up to in this picture.

I recently cleaned out the doors in our entertainment center and put toys in them. Avery thought they were for her anyways.

The baskets under our coffee table also were cleaned out to make room for Avery's things. Each morning she pulls them out.

And sometimes she falls in :) I had a hard time taking this picture because I was laughing so hard. She is quite the character.

Another, in the basket shot.

And under the coffee table.

And this is Avery and I having fun taking our picture together. We were dressed in our green to support State in the March Madness tournament.
And here is some fun Daddy and Avery time. This is not so much fun when she has a mouth full of babyfood!
