I knew that due to the diabetes that there was no way that I would go any later. It was actually reassuring to know that. However, just casually talking to my diabetes NP this week she said that they won't let me go over 38. What? That was not in my plan. So at my last doctor's appointment of the week (I have had 5 in 4 days this week) I brought it up to him. I'm positive we had this conversation way back in November but I knew I had to ask again. "So again what are your views on a DM pregnancy 38 or 39 weeks?" And Dr. Stewart casually responds with, "actually I prefer 37 weeks." Um WHAT? Was anyone going to tell me about this? Today I am 34 weeks pregnant!!

Now I understand that there is good reason for this. Being a pregnant diabetic, my chances for late term still born birth increase. That is scary, and not something you want to mess around with. But I also know the issues of having a baby early. Avery was 35 weeks and was in the special care unit for 10 days, never caught on to breast feeding no matter how hard I tried, and it was just terrible to be separated from her for so long.

My goal for this pregnancy was that we would avoid most of these issues. I had this grand idea that I might avoid another c-section, that the baby could room with me, and have a more normal length hospital stay. I can't imagine being away from Avery for 10 days.

Dr. Stewart did say that since I have such good control of my blood sugars, that it may be possible to go further than 37 weeks. We can iron out more of the details on the 12th (which also happens to be Avery and my birthday). We have an NST and then an ultrasound. That will tell us how strong he is, and how big he is. .....note to self, stay away from the carbs. Probably not going to happen with all these birthday celebrations coming up. But I need to focus on the prize.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-75185793143221189992012-04-03T12:53:00.000-04:002012-04-03T12:53:06.358-04:00Move over Dora...

Avery has a new favorite show, Doc McStuffins. It debuted on Disney Junior at the end of March, and she hasn't missed an episode. There are mornings when she gets up at 6am, I'm still trying to sleep for 30 more minutes, and Greg is on the treadmill. Greg used to put an episode of Dora on to buy me some time, but these days Avery walks into the basement and says, "Daddy, no Dora today. I want to watch DocMcstuffins."

Each episode features some sort of musical number, which honestly I think is a major draw for Avery. I even catch myself enjoying watching it with her at times. But she better not be getting any ideas. She has been talking about a Dora birthday party for months. I started to pick things up here and there, against my better judgement. So no matter what Dora must be cool until at least June!!

I knew from the beginning that pregnancy and type I diabetes had to be taken seriously. That's why this time, we were sure my A1C was below 6.5 (actually it was 6.3, but who's keeping track) before we even started trying to get pregnant. That's why this time I went to an official high risk doctor that I've been seeing every 2 weeks from the very beginning. That's why for the first 20 or so weeks my average blood sugar was a beautiful 100....without any nasty lows to blame it on. I felt like I had this beast under control.

Then all hell broke loose, blood sugar wise. Overnight my mornings went from a consistent 75 to a dismal 240 for no reason at all. And that was just the start. I immediately contacted my high risk OB, who said to call my endocrinologist. I was slightly baffled because he assured me from the beginning he could handle this. So to make a long story short, I have been trying to work with them to make tweaks to my insulin pump to tame the beast, but nothing was working. So I couldn't take it any longer, I broke down and called my nurse practitioner that watched over me closely the first time. When she left my doctor's office, I knew that I wasn't going to get the scrutinizing that I am used to, and for some crazy reason...like. But up to now my A1C has been well below 7 and I felt good with my control. I really like my doctor as a person, but she is far from a hard ass. And sometimes that's what you need to keep your diabetes butt in gear.

So Saturday morning I finally picked up the phone to call my old nurse practitioner. I explained that I was now 25 weeks pregnant and my average was a dismal 200+. She is amazing with diabetes math, and made some much needed insulin boosts. Immediately I saw the difference. I wasn't out of the woods yet, but I felt like progress was definitely being made. I thought that maybe I could stay with my current doctor and just work off the adjustments she made. Switching doctors at 25 weeks isn't appealing, either is driving probably an hour to a new doctor.

I know diabetics have big babies because their sugars are not well managed, but I never really put myself into that group. Who me? I test almost hourly. I make corrections. I try my best to be on top of the highs. I'm a smart diabetic who has this under control.

But today was a wake-up call. I had an ultrasound to check the babies growth. And although I enjoyed every minute of seeing his handsome face, button nose, and put a face to all that craziness in my belly.....I also heard the news that I have been dreading. He is 2.2lbs....he should be only around 1.5lbs. AKA: you're doing a really crappy job with this diabetes thing.

So I came home and called to make an appointment at the new endocrinologist. I also bumped up my hourly basals by another 10%, and ate a salad for dinner. I will make whatever sacrifices I need to for this baby to not be classified as yet another "big diabetes baby." But I must also fight the feelings of being a failure, and remind myself how hard I have worked to try and get back in control. I am going to use today's appointment as the motivation I need to continue to fight for great control. But it's really hard not to think that I've been a bad mom to this poor baby already.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-72049907998461334412012-01-02T18:27:00.000-05:002012-01-02T18:27:25.764-05:00Blog worthy news...I can't believe I haven't blogged since last April! I started this blog so that all of our far away friends and family could keep up with Avery. I am terrible about downloading pictures from my camera, which in turn gives me a reason not to blog. Who wants to read a blog without pictures?? Although I'm not big on New Years resolutions, one that I am making is to download my camera pictures more often. Hopefully that will mean one less excuse not to blog. I will have to overcome my learning curve on my Mac computer. I have had this computer since September, and still don't know quite how to use it.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: large;">And now for our blog worthy news...

This is how we broke the news that Avery is going to be a big sister this summer! It took some just a short time to catch on to what her shirt said, and others a little longer. It was fun to see everyone's reaction!

I found a version of this shirt on Etsy from zoeysattic. Greg loved the "Only child" idea, but I wasn't a fan of the characters on the one listed. However, Erin at zoeysattic was awesome with my requests during the busy holiday season.

For Avery's announcement I made three separate calendars one for Greg's mom, his dad and one for my mom. Each was completely custom to them with their pictures, except on each July we had a picture of Avery's first ultrasound. Making one shirt was far easier and far cheaper!!

2012 has started out great already with a Michigan State win in triple overtime!!! Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year!!Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-74280386404581296332011-04-01T16:33:00.002-04:002011-04-01T16:40:34.965-04:00Spring Break!I was so excited for spring break, just to take a vacation from the non-stop studying I feel like I've been doing. On Tuesday Sophia was over so I thought I would do this activity that I saw on Kelly's Korner blog. Someone said that they let their kids play with finger paints in the bathtub. So I thought it would be a fun thing to do since it is still too cold most days to play outside. They loved it!!

On Wednesday Avery and I headed to Virginia. Greg had to work so he came later the next day. We were there to spend time with our good friends Kris, Sara and their daughter Izzy. We used to spend a lot of time with Kris and Sara when we lived in Chesapeake, and miss spending time together like the good old days.
Avery was not a big fan of all the attention we were getting. Once we were no longer considered potential terrorists, we killed some time playing in the Step 2 toy area. I was able to pull her away with just a minimal amount drama in time to catch our first flight to Detroit. We had a short layover there. I had toys, dvd's and lots of snacks but somehow forgot to pack lunch. But I got lucky and found an uncrustable and banana. It worked out perfectly.
We had a wonderful time in Virginia just getting to spend time with the Wilson's. We also had a small get together one night which gave us the chance to catch up with some of our other friends. We even had time to drive past the townhouse we still own in Virginia. Everything seemed to be ok. Of course I never think it is being taken care of as good as I would like. I just need to be thankful it is rented. I hope that one day soon the economy will turn around so that we can sell it. I have always thought it was cute, in a good neighborhood and a great location but it is just something else for me to worry about since we live so far away.
We cooked dinner at home, and just enjoyed spending time together. One day we decided to go to the aquarium. I was suprised by how much Avery seemed to enjoy herself.
I started this blog for our family who are spread out all around, and I've done a terrible job of keeping you updated. I apologize, I don't seem to be as good at multi-tasking as I once thought I was.

Avery is 18 months now. As you can see from these pictures from the last 6 months, she is growing up so quickly.

You sign more, please, thank you, milk, eat, dog, cat, all done, fish, grandpa, grandma, drink, baby, banana, read.

When asked what noises a cow or duck say, you answer with moo or quack.

You give the most amazing kisses!!

You love to watch your Elmo video.

You love to dance around to any kind of music.

You can point to your bellybutton, nose, eyes, and ears when asked.

You love to read books or have books read to you.

You love to sing the alphabet song, and wear everything around your neck.

You wear size 4 diapers.

You wear 18 month - 24 month clothes and a size 6 shoe.

You can use a fork to eat pretty well.

You go to bed around 8pm and wake up each morning at 745am.

You are down to pretty much 1 nap a day.

You know how to throw some great tantrums. I believe that it's because you want to communicate, but don't know how. In addition, you are very independent and have definite views on some things. If someone puts a stop to your plan, it makes you very upset.

I think something I notice in pictures is how much your hair has grown. If we want your hair to stay out of your face, we have to put it in pigtails. I've recently tried headbands again, but you don't keep them in for very long.

If we tell you something is hot, you blow on it. And I don't just mean food.

You have 16 teeth. Your "K9" teeth were the last four to come in all
at once. Similar to how your all 4 pre-molars showed up at once in August.

Most recently you've learned how to climb onto the kitchen chairs and on top of the coffee table.

You are in this phase where you like to take clothes and wear them around your neck.

Avery I can not believe how much you have changed in the last 6 months. It's exciting to see you grow into a little girl, but makes me sad that my baby is growing up so fast.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-44267720995989377692010-12-20T14:57:00.000-05:002010-12-20T14:57:32.996-05:00Facelift
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Now that finals are over, I gave some much needed attention to our blog. Both my husband and I are type 1 diabetic. Although diabetes does not define who we are, it is definitely something that we deal with each day. Our life became much sweeter after having our daughter in June 2009. I can't imagine a greater love. I created this blog because we live so far away from our families. I wanted them to be able to watch Avery grow and change.
Interesting fact....our blog was almost named New Pants On the Block. I'm not afraid to admit that I am a New Kids On the Block fan, and my husbands nickname for me is Pants. Avery has been referred to as baby pants on occassion amon many of her other nicknames. But in the end I'm glad that I chose Our Sweet Life. It just fits.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-80904378975164374972010-10-15T21:32:00.001-04:002010-10-16T09:09:24.444-04:0030 Day Blog Challenge - Day 1I have seen the 30 day blog challenge on a few of the blogs I read.
My name is Kristen, I am a wife to Gregory, mom to 16 month old Avery and a nursing school student. I had a real job as a merchandise buyer for over 5 years, but with the encouragement from my wonderful husband I am back in school to pursue my true passion. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and now live in Ohio.

15 Random facts:

1) I could honestly each pizza every single day of the week. Avery is a fan too. Some say it's because I ate so much of it while I was pregnant.

2) My next guilty pleasure is Chik-fil-a. We are what you call "regulars" at our local restruant.

3) While on the food facts, my favorite ice cream is Baskin Robbins Rocky Road.

4) I played fast pitch softball since I was in the 2nd grade until Jr. year in high school. Then I thought having a car was more important. I would go back and do things differently if I could.

5) I played the flute in band, but only did marching band for one year.

6) I only knew my one grandmother, and she passed away when I was in the first grade. I think that is the reason I treasure Greg's grandparents so much. And makes me so happy that Avery not only knows her grandparents but her great grandparents as well.

7) My dad passed away when I was 2 years old from pancreatic cancer at the age of 31.

8) I have a Bachelor of Science in Global Business from Arizona State University.

9) I have lived in AZ, NJ, VA and OH. Arizona will always be home to me. We've lived in Ohio for the last 5 years. We have beautiful Summer's, gorgeous Fall's, wonderful neighbors and friends here. I just have a hard time with the long winters. Hopefully one day we can live somewhere a little warmer.

10) I'm a much better student the second time around.

11) I am practically the oldest student in two of my classes this year. I swear none of them are paying any attention to the teacher, they are all on Facebook or texting. Boy that makes me sound old doesn't it!!

12) Since meeting my husband I have become a big fan of college football. We root for Michigan State in this house. (Arizona State too, it's just never on tv here)

13) I also love to watch Michigan State basketball!!

14) Stacey and Lea have been my best friends since elementary school.

15) After getting my BSN I plan to become a Certified Diabetes Educator.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-17201492821284032612010-09-22T15:48:00.000-04:002010-09-22T15:48:47.492-04:00Happy 3 year anniversary!!Today is our 3 year anniversary. I married an amazingly romantic man. From the beginning he created a plan for each anniversary, he would plan all odd years and I would have all even. For our first anniversary he surprised me by taking me to San Diego for 5 amazing days! I could not have asked for a better first anniversary. So I was in charge of year two celebrations, however we had a 3 month old. I had actually started to make plans while I was pregnant, but Greg and I agreed that we weren't ready to travel or leave Avery when it got closer to September. So now we are celebrating 3 years together, and boy how are lives have changed since year one. I'm not working and now going to school, we have a baby, etc., but my husband still knows how to plan a romantic anniversary!

He started planning a few months ago, but never gives me any clues to what he is putting together. Steph and Steve drove down from Michigan on Friday afternoon to watch Avery. We had a fun dinner out in Hudson Friday night together. Then Saturday I had strict orders to be ready to go by 1030am. Do you have any idea how hard it is to pack when you don't know where you're even going?

Our anniversary started out with an early lunch at our favorite place....Chic-fil-a. Then we headed South. I had a lot of ideas in my head about where we might be going....but I never thought we would be heading South. We got slightly lost, and ended up parked in a movie theatre. I thought we were stopping for directions, because we NEVER go to the movies. But that was part 2 of our celebration. We watched Grown Ups. It was a typical funny Adam Sandler movie. Even Greg enjoyed it.

Then we continued to head South. We were driving on roads that were twisting and turning back and forth, until we arrived at our destination....Whispering Pine Bed and Breakfast. It is an old farmhouse across from a lake in Dellroy, OH. After checking in we walked through the entire house, checked out some of the other rooms and spent some time on the swing outside. And then at 5pm there was a knock on our door, it was a women there to give me a massage. After that, we got ready for our dinner reservations at 630pm. We ate dinner at this resort on the other side of the lake. It had the most gorgeous views. We ended our night in the bar....watching the Spartans take on the Fighting Irish. I am pretty sure we were the only ones there watching the game. Everyone else was dancing and singing karaoke. But it was an amazing game!! Sunday we woke up and had an amazing breakfast before we headed back home. It was so much different from our trip to San Diego, but it was still an amazing anniversary!! The bed and breakfast was so peaceful, decorated tastefully with antiques and had numerous Tiffany style lamps. I have love Tiffany lamps!
Greg has yet again set the bar high. It has been crazy the last few months, but I can say that it was a good crazy....but only because I got an "A" in both of my Summer school classes. :) We also went on our first vacation as a family of three (and lived to tell about it), our baby is now a walking toddler, and so much more. I will try and go back and recap some of our Summer later. For now, just a <strike>few</strike> alot of pictures from last weekend. We are trying to enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, and get the most out of our pool membership this season.

Friday night our neighbors invited us over for dinner on the deck. We ordered from a local favorite, Luigi's. It was a beautiful night, and Avery and Miles had so much fun playing together.

Oh my, Avery we survived your first year!! It wasn't too hard, life is just a lot different these days. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love you so much! You make me laugh and excited to be your mom each day.

What are you doing at 12 months?

You are back to a strict nap schedule...something you've done on your own. 930a and 330p every day.

Bed time is around 8ish....but is so hard when the sun is out. Mom & Dad still want to play with you.

You have finally started to clap, wave and shake your head no.

You have 8 teeth. The last one to come in was the bottom left of center.

Baby food is really no longer an option. You must be able to feed yourself. And goldfish are your snack of choice.

Your volume is impressive. You yell so loudly. We're not sure how you don't hurt your own ears because ours are definitely ringing.

You like toys that you can push or walk behind like your hippo. You enjoy playing with toys in the bathtub. But my favorite...you love to sit and look at books. I will read them to you, but you are very happy just to look at the pictures and read your own story.

What an amazing year we've had!! I can't way to share in the excitement of next year. You'll always be my baby!
Some pictures of Avery at her friend Kayla's first birthday. The car was hard for her to sit in and go anywhere, but she enjoyed pushing it. The day seemed so long, and I got so much accomplished as well as had fun with friends.

I started out the morning cleaning the deck, washing the windows and screens. It was so beautiful outside, that I didn't mind at all. Avery took the longest nap ever....which probably helped the productivity factor quite a bit. Once she was up and had some lunch, we were off to our first stop...Crystal's graduation party. Crystal is the daughter of our good friend Diane. She just graduated from the University of Akron. It was great to see Diane and Crystal, and we also got to catch up with our friend Nathan and his beautiful new wife. He came all the way from to Jamaica to celebrate Crystal's graduation. I know, I know....where are the pictures? We both spent the entire time chasing after Avery making sure that she wasn't eating mulch, rocks and finding any other sort of trouble. I make up for the lack of pictures later...read on.

After a few hours catching up, Avery started rubbing her eyes and getting fussy-sign it is time to make our exit. She was unhappy the entire way home, so we thought that there was no way we were going to be able to spend much time at Sophia's 1st birthday. We put her in the stroller and went up there to quickly drop off her present. However, Avery caught a second wind. I'm sure that it won't last too long, so I'm trying to enjoy it!

The weather has been hot, might I say "Summer-like" here in Ohio. I'm embarrassed to say that we already have our air conditioning on. Growing up in Arizona, I remember seeing how long we could go before we had to turn the a/c on. I can assure you that it wasn't when it was 80 degrees outside. Either I've have become a terrible wimp when it comes to heat, or 80 degrees feels different in Ohio than it does in Arizona. I will go with the second option. Side note....when I lived in my apartment in Phoenix I set my air conditioning for 82 when I was home and 85 while I was at work. Hey....I was a starving college student!!

Here are a few pictures that I took at our most recent play group get together. Avery would ride on this toy, and Miles would push her around. It was so cute to watch!!

And here is Miles taking a ride on Avery's beloved pig.

Last Summer I bought this pool on clearance. It is so much cuter than the picture on the box makes it out to be. So cute, that I can't bring myself to put it outside to go swimming in. So it is currently in our front room. Avery and I have had a good time reading and playing in it. I have thought about buying balls to fill it up with and make it like a ball pit. Greg thinks I'm crazy...what do you think? Is Avery too young to enjoy the fun of a ball pit? I did go to Target today, and bought a smaller pool for Avery to play in on the deck. I think the dogs think it is just one huge water bowl for them :)

The pool even has four detachable butterflies. This was Greg's golf weekend when he and his brother and friends play a lot of golf over two days. It is something that they look forward to for weeks. It was also the weekend of our neighborhood garage sale. We had a few things to try to get rid of, and our neighbors brought some of their treasures down as well (so that we had enough for a descent garage sale).

I think the best part of the weekend started Thursday night with the neighborhood "preview" night. Which means you get a head start on the garage sale fun. So I left Greg home to man our sale and Avery and I went shopping!! Here is Avery with her favorite garage sale find...

I thought about saving this for her birthday, but she loves him so much I couldn't keep him hidden away.

She loves to be pushed around the living room.

In addition to Piglet, I also bought two baby gates and a bike trailer. If I didn't find gates at the garage sale, I was going to have to go buy them at the store. Avery has quickly become an expert at climbing the stairs! And the bike trailer is something we have always talked about, and for $30 I couldn't pass it up. There is a similar one on the front of Target ad this week for $149!! I love knowing that I got a good deal!!

Besides garage sale fun, Avery and I went to a birthday party, out for a few walks and even tried out the park. Little did we know that it would be much sooner than we thought!

What are you doing at 11 months?

You wear Pampers Cruisers - size 3.

You wear size 12-18 month clothes. When I go shopping for you, I usually buy size 18 months.

Shoe size-still a 3.

Eating: You love your blueberry waffles for breakfast. I usually give you half a banana or some applesauce as well. Lunch lately has been a turkey sandwich, grilled cheese or a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich :) With some strawberries, pineapple or grapes on the side. Dinner is a sample of whatever we are eating and some sort of baby meal. You love pizza like your mommy. People are amazed at the amount of it you can put away....including me!

Your nap schedule is random. You really need two, but some days you just get one long one.

You sleep through the night unless you are working on another tooth. We have spent a couple of nights in the guest room together. When you wake up and cry, I rub your back until you go back to sleep.

Teeth update: you have 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. I have to think the other bottom one is coming based on your mood and the amount that you're drooling. :)

You love to play chase mommy and daddy. You hit turbo speed when you see the cat. It is so funny, you look like a little bull dog. You have stood all by yourself a few times. You aren't sure what to think about that. Oh, and you've learned to maneuver the stairs. I caught you half way up them. Time for the gates!

And most importantly, this month you started to wave. You like to wave at everything, but not on command!!

As you may have noticed, our picture location was changed this month. And this is the reason why...

Avery did not want to take her picture in her crib. Greg's mom and husband came to visit. Ok-probably more like they came to visit Avery :) She loves it when people come to see her. It's like we are old news and she has a new audience. We like it when Steph and Steve visit too...we always eat so good when they are here. This time we were wow'd by a belated Cinco de Mayo celebration-tacos and guacamole. Unfortunately the weather was much to be desired, so instead of long walks outside and dinners on the deck -- we wandered Sam's Club and watched Avery's mad pizza eating skills at our favorite Winking Lizard restaurant.

Sunday morning started by saying good-bye to our guests. Avery honestly looked so bummed that her audience was leaving, and she was stuck with just the two of us again. Greg is the master of surprises-so I did not know what was planned. Around 11:30ish we found ourselves at the Olive Garden. I love their salad and breadsticks. Avery chowed down on breadsticks, some spaghetti and fettuccine. Because of Greg's great planning we did not wait even for a minute. Next we got back in the car for a short trip to the jewelry store. I got to pick out the necklace that I have been eyeing since Avery was born. It is a simple Alexanderite solitaire necklace. Very simple, but means so much to me. I was so excited! We headed home so that Avery could nap and I needed to complete my final exam for my class online. But to end my first Mother's Day we went to Coldstone for some ice cream! I don't think I've been there since I was pregnant. I love their banana ice cream with strawberries and chocolate syrup in a waffle bowl. Yummmm! And they were giving ice cream away to all mom's. Score!! The perfect ending to my perfect day.

Here are a few pictures from our lunch:

I have to get this face on video. I am a loyal reader of her blog, so I thought that this would be a fun post to do.
Growing up there were two names that I just "knew" were going to be the names of my children...for a little girl-Olivia.....and for a little boy-Logan. To this day I still love those names, but when the time came for Greg and I to seriously consider baby names, these were vetoed pretty quickly.

Before we knew what we were having, Greg and I had pretty much come to agreement on the name Chase Gregory for a boy. Greg liked Chase because it sounded liked he could be a baseball player, the quarterback of the football team, or a successful businessman. And Gregory because all the boys on his dad's side of the family take their dad's name. No complaints here. I was only concerned that if we named him Chase.....that I would be chasing Chase everywhere :) Honestly, it was not a name that I ever considered or thought that I would name my son, but for some reason it fit.

When it came to a girls name, we did not agree. I figured not to fight it until we were sure what we were having. So at our 20 week ultrasound when we found out that we were indeed having a little girl...one of my first thoughts was..."will we ever agree on a girl name?" Some names that we considered were Stella, Addison, and Maryn (or Marin). I really wanted Addison, he really liked Stella, and we couldn't agree on the spelling of Maryn so it was out. But ultimately Greg wanted to wait and meet our baby before he named her. He thought that would help him decided. Until one day the name Avery came up. I'm not sure where I heard it, but the more I thought about it, I loved it! We both knew that was the name. So what I thought was going to be a long battle-really was not, and we found the perfect name. Greg left the middle name up to me. I considered naming her Avery Madison, but instead decided on Avery Jadus. Jadus is my maiden name, and my own father died when I was very young-so it is in tribute to him. Although I really like how Avery Madison sounds, I think that Avery Jadus has a greater meaning. I grew up never liking my middle name, so I hope that she likes hers. (this seriously worries me)

Miss Avery J

Although finding the perfect name is somewhat stressful (only because your DH can veto something that you think is the best name ever) I look forward to doing it again one day.Kris10http://www.blogger.com/profile/03981886102000098169noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331825315255691761.post-58962484237567528422010-04-30T06:00:00.003-04:002010-04-30T06:00:08.275-04:00Easter Weekend Recap
I know that it is kind of late for an Easter wrap up, but I thought I would share some pictures from Avery's first Easter. We had the most beautiful warm weather for the weekend, and we also had great company. Dave and Michelle came from Michigan to visit. Avery loves attention from Bumpa and eve has a special smile for him.

We spent our time eating out on the deck, cheering for Michigan State in the Final Four and just enjoying our visitors. Dave loves to take pictures...and I believe that Avery may be one of his more favorite subjects. Which means we get so many great pictures.
